NFL DFS: Top-5 DraftKings Plays for Week 2

NFL and NFL DFS are officially back after some very exciting action in Week 1. To start the year, @DanBrownNFL and I highlighted five players that we felt would have the biggest impact in daily fantasy sports to kick off the year. Some of our guys did very well and some did just okay. On Thursday’s latest episode of SODFS, (Episode No. 3) we cover our concerns and “misses” during the accountability segment.

Our 2021 NFL DFS Strategy Guide is also always live on the TNFF Network.

Moving forward, it is time for Week 2. We were able to make some money to start the year. Now, let’s see if we can do it again. Below we will feature our Top-5 players that you should target in NFL DFS to keep building that bank and filling your wallet. Similar to last week, we will each give you two of our favorite players, as well as one guy that we agree on.

Without wasting any more time, let’s jump in.

NFL DFS Dan’s Favorites

Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals ($5,000)

Despite the reports we were hearing during the preseason about Chase’s struggles, He led Bengals WRs Sunday in snaps (62), routes run (30), targets (7), yards (101), YAC (37), and PFF receiving grade (79.8) while finishing with 20.9 fantasy points. With a week 2 matchup against a Bears defense that has lost its prowess from two years ago, Chase should see plenty of volumes as he cements himself as Joe Burrows’s go-to guy in this Bengals offense.

Javonte Williams, RB, Denver Broncos ($4,400)

I’m week one we saw a split backfield for Denver, while it was Melvin Gordon that had the long TD run to give him the better finish, Williams had 15 opportunities in a tough matchup, and he equaled Gordon’s 33 snaps. Gordon ran 19 routes while Williams ran 15. This week they face one of the worst teams in the Jacksonville Jaguars and Williams should feast.

With the loss of Jerry Jeudy, look for the Broncos to lean a bit heavier on their run, and let the game script carry both backs into the top 15 this week

NFL DFS Nate’s Favorites

Amari Cooper, WR, Dallas Cowboys ($6,800)

Jumping back to 2020, the target share that Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, Amari Cooper received is pretty staggering. In his first four games, prior to quarterback Dak Prescott’s horrific injury, the 27-year-old wideout was thrown to 51 total times. To start the 2021 season, he got another 16 looks from Prescott, securing 13 of them. There are plenty of opportunities there, and at $6,800 on DraftKings, we love the price point too.

The Cowboys will face off against the Los Angles Chargers this week, in a game with a projected point total of 50 according to Vegas odds. The one concern I have is where Cooper will line up with Michael Gallup officially ruled out due to injury. Cooper lineup the most in the slot, out of all Cowboys wideouts in Week 1. Will the new WR3 for the time being, Cedrick Wilson, be lining up on the outside? Will Cooper play the slot?

Either way, we’re starting him. You can lock him in in both cash and GPP formats.

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys ($6,800)

I’m all in on this stack, and you cannot scare me away. NFL DFS is looking sweet this week with this Cowboys’ duo. Do not be scared. Plug these guys in and reap the rewards. The number of pass attempts may not be sustainable, but the points will come.

Lock and load these dudes!

NFL DFS Agreement

Najee Harris, RB, Pittsburgh Steelers ($6,300)

Rookie running back Najee Harris was not overly impressive in Week 1, averaging only 2.7 yards-per-carry, however, he did play 100% of the Steelers snaps. It’s a bit worrisome, but do not overreact. Play Najee with confidence, despite a price point that is not great.

Cash or GPP, we feel good and his belief in his ability by the Pittsburgh coach staff tells you he is a part of this game plan moving forward.
