Looking for a bounce-back this week? You are not alone. DraftKings Sportsbook is tough. The good news is that a few games this week present themselves with some attractive prop matchups. Two, in particular, have multiple prop values. Here are the DraftKings prop locks for Week 5.
Trevor Lawrence Over 1.5 touchdowns (+100)
Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars as a whole have struggled mightily over the first quarter of the season. Throwing more interceptions than touchdowns is not something we saw during his stellar career at Clemson. Combine that with the Urban Meyer saga that has been a huge distraction to the team and you have a recipe for continued poor play. But thankfully the Tennessee Titans are coming to town. Tennessee is ranked 26th in the NFL in total defense while giving up an average of two touchdowns per game through the air. Probably not enough to get Jacksonville their first win but definitely enough for Lawrence to go over the number.
Marvin Jones Jr. anytime scorer (+150) and Over 4.5 receptions (-155)
Trevor Lawrence is going to need a wingman this weekend and who is better than Marvin Jones? Averaging five receptions per game and 10.9 yards per reception, look for a big game for Jones against the weak Titans’ secondary and cover both props.
Baker Mayfield Under 1.5 touchdowns (-130)
In four games Mayfield has thrown for two touchdowns and two interceptions. He has been benign at best. Combine that with the news that Mayfield has been playing with a torn Labrum in his left shoulder and the under this weekend is like taking pre-Hallowe’en candy from the cupboard. Oh, and by the way their opponents, the LA Chargers, just happen to be the NFL’s fifth ranked defense against the pass. Ya, this number is gravy.
Over 45.5 yards rushing (-130)
We have established that Baker Mayfield’s struggle to throw the ball will continue. Another neat fact is that the Cleveland Browns are the league’s best rushing team, averaging 177 yards per game. The Chargers are near the bottom of the league (28th) stopping the run. Hunt himself has failed to surpass the number only once this season. That was the first week when he only had six touches. This prop might get cashed at halftime.
Dalvin Cook Under 15.5 longest run yardage (-125)
I am not usually a proponent of going against players that are among the league’s best. But Cook has been not himself all week. His longest run so far this year was 17 yards. Some may argue that he is due to break out. I argue that he will see spot duty, at best, this weekend and will be more of a decoy than a game-breaker.
Enjoy the games, bet responsibly, and treat yourself with your winnings this weekend.
